Before I get into the blog, I just wanted to remind everyone to like us on Facebook, which gets you entered to WIN and iPad!
Okay, now to get to the nitty gritty. Many people are hustling to get their packages sent off to relatives, planning Christmas parties and get togethers, and finishing their last minute shopping. I wil agree that most people who take the Christmas season seriously, will end up burning a few extra calories purely by hustling around. But this brings an interesting question, what about you? Christmas is about giving, so how about giving something to yourself that keeps on giving! And no I’m not talking about another yearly renewal on your gym membership. I’m talking about starting New Year’s resolutions early. I don’t really like the concept, but everyone can relate to it.
I think the reason most people wait until New Year’s isn’t because they want to start something in the New Year. I think it is because they don’t have anytime until then. So my challenge to you, is get into the physical activity habit now (before Christmas) and carry it through into the New Year! I have set up some goals for my lifting that I want to achieve by Christmas and it has kept me on track, even amongst all the hustle and bustle. Start eating healthy and exercising now, so you’re aren’t regreting that inevitable weight gain over the holidays. There is no reason why you can’t be in great shape and enjoy all the Christmas festivities and food!
So to summarize my challenge, start New Year’s resolutions now and form the habit before the holidays! Give yourself that gift of health without conforming to normal of tradiitonal New Year’s habits! Good Luck and Merry Christmas!
